About

The works of Martyn Woods are usually found to have flat filled areas with some form of human figure or portrait as a main subject focus although his work is not necessarily realism and portraiture.
Expect the subject to be repeated, shifted and overlaid on itself, or lost within geometric and modern patterns weaving throughout and creating layered planes.
The tone is quite often contemplative using a balanced design with a strong use of colour.

After studying art design and illustration straight after secondary school Martyn Woods spent the next few decades pursuing various creative careers such as physical model making and Architectural Visualization.
With the birth of his children, he took a step back from the professional world and dedicated his time to helping them through their early years of development.
The recent pandemic and the existential threat of the impending environmental changes triggered a period of deep reflection which resulted with him reigniting his artistic endeavours.
